The flashy hued fae's feathery pistons would dance in long strides, stepping over hidden tree roots and harmful rocks as she made her way down the road. The graceful bodice of the mare would glide along the forest, the canopy covering her from too much sun. Requiem was more of a night type of girl, loving the darker shades and the heavens as black as slate. The fiery looks of the lass, her bright orange colors, where draped by a cloth of shadows, as they hugged her tightly. A singly ray of light shone down on her multi-colored horn as she took off in a canter, her purple fairy in close pursuit as she made her way through the sea of arbors.
As her pistons made a fleet escape from the cloak of shade, a sweet humming emitted from her chest, a delicate tine fabricated. It was an old tune, one a mother would sing to their youth. A peaceful, almost serene look rushed over her face as the morning mist set in, indicating the reign of night was gone. Halting to a stop, the pulsing that was coming from her lengthy bi-toned horn had ceased, and the shadows that wrapped around her protectively dissipated. An almost deer sort of posed came over the mare as her cranium was raised high, her hazel orbs raking over the terrain.

i don't know why i feel so tongue-tied... Wow. Wow! Lost, again. Again, he'd fucked up, wandered too far, slipped, fallen, slept too late, didn't pay attention, any sort of mistake someone could make that would end up getting them lost, Quinlan was bound to commit it. What a dumbass, right? How?! How do I keep doing this?! Stupid, stupid, idiot! You're so stupid and dumb, god, why does Torque even talk to you?! The first time he'd lost his close companion, he'd sat down and simply cried. Waterfalls of tears had flowed without cessation, and he most definitely had looked a fool. Of course, he had managed to re-encounter the mare; somehow he'd always ended up doing so, no matter how far apart they'd wandered from each other. This constant recurrence, the never-ending cycle of getting lost, no matter how hard he try to avoid it's happening, had hardened the stallion, in some ways, to the tragic events; in fact, he no longer cried when he lost his friend! Of course, he still felt like doing it. Heroic, right? A deep look of worry crossed the stallions face as he stopped his usual mental self-depreciation and, for the first time, took in his surroundings. Fear grew rapid and contagious, in his eyes and on his lips, as he took in the eerie vibes he had, somehow, missed upon entry of the place. A sharp, cold shiver ran down his spine, dread dripped from his heart like sticky goo, and he knew his time would come here. This is where you'll die...As his eyes gazed around the place, horror magnifying with each detail observed, he spotted her. She lay quite a few feet away, though still within eye's view. Already chilled heart froze, for only a second, as nervousness took hold of his body. However, this mare did not seem quite as threatening as others had, and he found her markings and coloring, the contrast of dark ebony with bright orange, pretty. This being said, though he felt no immediate and overwhelming fear of the horse, he could not abandon his skittish and cautious tendencies, and approached slowly, hesitantly, a wary and careful look in his eyes. 360 Requiem ― I'M SORRY THIS TOOK ME SO LONG 8( everytime i meant to reply, my muse would just vanish omg 8(

(Don't sweat it! Totally understand) The scent of another drifted lazily upon the mare's sooty nostrils, her velveteens stretching to expose an ivory grin. Her smile wasn't one of menace, but ti wasn't of friendliness either. Her ink crown would turn to the direction the smell wafted from, and like a spot light the bodice of a deep blue body hit her hazel orbs rather strong-like. His coat was that of the sea, and the short mane, much like hers, was just long enough to skim the horizon of his Perlino mask. And Requiem though the other equines looked weird... but his cooler colors seemed to suit the frame is wrapped around. He was no threat, maybe just a passer by. Hmmm...Pulling away her staring, watchful gaze of the brilliant hues he radiated, the lass would shake her similar short locks, more of a sign of a relaxed state. A slight huff of smoke arose from her nostrils, the effects of the morning mist floating away from her cranium. Opening her jaws to let a silky voice slip through, her words coiled between the two equines, the sound trailing like a slithering serpent. " Greetings." Taking a few steps closer to study the brute closer, Requiem's watchful gaze rolled over his frame. He wasn't a fighter, you could tell. His build was that more of a lanky thing, like an elk or deer. Noting this, the Inky maiden turned her bodice away from his, slowly wandering whilst her voice rang out. " What brings you in these parts, wanderer?" quinlan

i don't know why i feel so tongue-tied... He watched her carefully, muscles tensed, but ready to flee, should he need to. She did not appear, in any way, to be of some strong threat, and this helped to put the stallion at ease. However, he simply could not find it in him to relax, to allow himself to come across as open and extroverted; these were things he was not, how could he lie about something so crucial? It had been too long since he had found himself able to speak around others. Of course, Torque had been the occasional exception, but to go ones entire life unable to speak with others? It sounded overbearingly difficult. It was a damn good thing he never really felt the need to speak, anyways. However, this being said, he had grown so accustomed to silence, to living life only listening, that when the mare addressed him, the words had first been registered in a sort of dream-like trance. This was how he had learned to cope with the inability to socialize, to take nearly all words in with a dreary, dreamy tone, and he could manipulate these things, if need be, to take whatever shaped he preferred. This case was different, though; this time, he was being specifically addressed, by a stranger, who had no knowledge of his disability, and was expected to answer. He shifted awkwardly in place, staring at the mare with a contorted face that read helpless confusion. What was he to do? He no longer punished himself when the words failed to roll off his tongue; he no longer found himself frustrated to the point of explosion over something he could not, ultimately, control. And so he stared at her, awkwardly fidgeting from one hoof to the next. 292 Requiem ― omg why's he so awkward chill

Tilting her crown of flame, the mare's hazel pools grazed over his own aqua face. Upon hearing no answer, she righted her cranium, and placed her frame parallel to his, leaving a gap of about a foot or two. Swishing her tassle, a habit from ridding herself of flies, the jetty banshee's words trailed from her jaws, her tone a nice calm yet her body language said otherwise. " What's the matter, afraid of just a little mare?" Her dark lips would lift in a smirk as her voice continued to roll off of her tongue. " I don't really bite, you know." And with that, her feathered appendages carried her slowly around his frame, testing his nerves. Stopping directly behind the brute, Requiem let out a loud snort, half expecting him to thrash out in fear. And taking a few steps backwards, she would return to view in front of his bodice. " Why are you so afraid? Did someone hurt you when you were younger?" quinlan(URGHHHH low museeee Dx hopefully I get some nice inspiration later though)

i don't know why i feel so tongue-tied... Her attitude, her body language, her actions, all spoke to him in a mischievous tone, one that perhaps enjoyed taunting, one that seemed to enjoying pushing buttons, testing. It did not sit right with him. It made him uneasy, cautious, nervous, it made the previous, small trust he'd imbued in her hard, so, so hard, to hold onto. Her curious ways threatened him, and though he felt it possible, in the near future, to relax himself, that feeling was coming to an end. Perhaps he should learn not judge a book by its cover. Not all things that seem harmless are, in fact, harmless. Silly, silly mistake. He wouldn't allow it to happen again. Her loud snort gave him such a frightful start, left him swallowing down a now fast beating heart, sent him alive with a jolt, that he ran. He darted from the mare, fear in his heart and in his eyes, in his bones and blood, until he'd reached a safe distance from her. When the distance he had reached from her had felt safe to him, he turned on his hooves and watched her. From afar, though not so much that he could not hear her words, he held his gaze on her, steady, almost like a hawk. A silent figure, with a small, but noticeable, look of fear on his face, cold eyes nearly glowing in the mist. Dangerous... She seems too dangerous. Dumb, don't assume. Never assume. Learn that. Dangerous...However, her next words seemed of lighter tone, seemed to hold worry and care in them. This affected him. This brought down his guard, if only slightly, and the fear slowly morphed into extreme uncertainty. Where was his voice? Childhood? He remembered that. No, he didn't want to. Too painful. Bad thoughts, bad vibes, best to leave it all alone. Alone. His lips quivered, determination sunk in, and his jaw set. He would do it, if only once. Names were important. "N-n-n-... N-n... Nnname..." His voice was wobbly, uncertain as to which direction it really wanted to take, unflattering, squeaky. "Q-q-q-q... Q-... Quin-... Q-Quinlan..."350 Requiem ― IM SORRY LAST REPLY DIDNT HAVE MUCH TO REPLY TO 8( i hope this one has MORE tho

Her jetty dishes listened ever so acutely to his stuttering answer, one that seemed to almost pain him as the words uttered jaggedly from his frozen lips. Requiem's flashy appendages would slowly carry her closer, stopping at any sign of twitching. Lowering her crown leveled with her withers, the fae didn't dare get too close to the brute, his nerves worse than a deer. With a soft snort, the mare's gliding steps ended a comfortable length away from his cerulean physique. Studying his piercing blues, reading their look almost like a librarian would read a book, a captivating grasp on his pools as she gathered what information she could about them. Clear signs of fight and unsureness was visible through body language, but there was only so much the carcass of the animal could say. Requiem grew up with the notion that the eyes were the doorway to the soul, and upon her soft hazel orbits, they were nothing short than the key to feelings, desires, and sometimes fright. And with a slow lift of her crest, the mare's curious gaze ran along his face, looking for any signs of bruises or bite marks of the sort. Things she were terribly used to. And now, her corpse and voids switched roles. Showing a relaxed stance on the outside, lazy ears and and a slightly lifted hind stilt, the mare's own orbs took the role of the looming, daunting stare. Her voice seemed to spill from labios as her maw barely sidled to pronounce a single beat. " So," Turning her crown to expose the side of her face as the mare made a leisurely nipple at her own shoulder blade. " Quinlan, is it? At least, that's what I thought I heard. Don't be afraid to correct me, now." With with a small grin, the lass' eyes disconnected the staring contest, going back to it's usual rolling about as she scanned the area. quinlan

i don't know why i feel so tongue-tied... Uncertainty bore so plainly, heavily, on his lips, face, eyes, it was like a smack in the face for all who were present to see it. He watched her carefully, still, eyes not daring to peel away, lest she take up on his moment of carelessness and attack. A hesitant step back began its course as the mare took steps towards him, but stopped as he realized she did not wish to charge, nor harm. However, there was no small amount of trust he would give the mare, for now, at least. Opposite of the mare, oddly enough, given his past, the stallion bore no scars, no bruises, besides those received from clumsy tumbling, no marks of his past. His mind sure did, though. Boy, did his mind contain marks. Don't think of it. He watched as she studied him, and it put him much further on edge. Was she seizing him up? Probably. Forget it. Bad vibes. He could feel a headache coming on, and, of course, it would be a bad one. This mare sure did put him on edge. A nervous nod rippled through his muscles in some kind of response to the mare, eyes still glued to her. "N-N-Name?" An expectant tone hung onto his voice as he spoke, and he waited, tense, for her reply. 220 Requiem ― i'm sorry this is'nt very good sob 8( low muse

(ZOMG SO SORRY FOR LATE REPLIES DX) With a smirk spread upon ebony lips, the inky banshee's audits would swivel to catch the small words that escaped his blue mug. A soft gleam of encouragement would appear on hazel voids, as her voice rang out towards his lanky carcass. " Ah! How could I be so silly, I am Requiem." With a slight dip in her dial, the Friesian being would slowly set another heavily feathered post closer to him, threatening to take another step. She was testing him, it was pretty clear. Testing his length. It was obvious he was like a feral equine, having no civilization of a herd in a while. Much like she, in fact yet Requiem was open to speaking to others, such as Brahm for instance. Brahm was really the only one she trusted in these vast lands. And trust wasn't easy to come by. At least not for the mare. The small, almost tiny bodice of her's was something to almost frown upon. Requiem liked to be the one sizing up competition, taking her almost stallion like nature. Yet the 4 year old was only but a small thing. She noticed how other horses were much much larger, slender or stronger builds. But Requiem did have a few tricks up in her flaming feathers. She seemed to be the few who took strongly after their breed, but that wouldn't stop this unicorn. No, as soon as her powers came, the pumping of shadows into her veins, the almost intoxicating sense of having a new weapon was something Requiem would almost get high off of thinking about. She longed for that power, yet she had to make do with a mouth full of pearls and a strong kick. Falling out of a drunken mind, the mare turned her focus back on the blue horse that stood before her. quinlan
