Tansy! Curled up amid the thick grasses of the Buttershade plains, Tansy admired the starry sky above. She had watched it change from the brilliant oranges and reds of sunset into the deep, dark of night, and had tried in vain to count the stars as they emerged. One... Oh, there's two! Three... There were too many of them, of course, too much sky for her alone to watch and cover without assistance, but her inability to keep track of them all was of no consequence in the end. The sight of all of them, glowing so faintly but so prettily there beside the moon, was enough to satisfy her. Her smile was apparent upon her upturned face, dark eyes shimmering under the silvery light of the stars and moon. Everything felt peaceful beneath it, calm and cool and serene, but Tansy was still alive with energy. Resting to watch the sunset might have been a good idea when it had still been day out, but now she felt as if she had gotten a second wind. Sitting still as she was doing was just not going to cut it. With a noisy shuffle, the sooty black mare got her hooves beneath her and rose from the ground, her silvery grey tail flicking about slightly as she tried to shake out any pieces of grass that might have gotten entangled in it during her rest. A quick twitch passed over the rest of her coat to do the same, and with her ears perked Tansy glanced about curiously, surveying the plains from her full height. Quiet on all sides, though she thought she saw some figures moving out there at the edges of her sight. And then there was the pond beside her, still shimmering with silvery waves as the water rippled beneath the silvery moonlight. Lowering her head, the mare crept a few steps closer, her mane and forelock falling about her dark face in the process. As the water settled, she saw the same silvery mane that she possessed shrouding the face of the equine within the pond, looking back at her just as curiously as she stared at it. She smiled experimentally and her reflection did the same, a cheery expression looking up at her. Hello there again, she thought with a chuckle, finally drawing her head up and away from the water with a gentle sigh. Hmm, what was there to do... ooc: open to anyone!

Bright hazel eyes would caress over the form of the other equine, a seemingly harmless creature. She was like that of a deer, fragile being. From her observations, Requiem could only take a wild guess as to that this horse had just reached the age of adulthood. Shaking her small amount of mane, Requiem stayed concealed in the shadows that she wrapped around herself, like a blanket. She wasn't feeling very mischievous at the time, so the idea of spooking the apparent mare wasn't in best interest. With the bright hues on Requiem's coat, one would guess that she was easy to spot. That is, Requiem has been practicing concealing ever since her powers came in at 2. She didn't use spells like Invisibility or camouflage, but she learned a way to bend the shadows, making a wall of sorts around her bodice.
With a curious glint in her obs, Requiem couldn't help but notice how much at peace this mare was. How childlike she was. With a soft snort, Requiem decided the stalking was over. Her deep purple firefly fluttered around the charcoal face of the Friesian. A predator sort of look came about her as she slowly walked towards the slightly larger creature. Arching her deep colored neck, Requiem would sway her tassle, a habit from the bugs. A soft grunt rumbled from her chest as a soft, sugary voice spilled from obsidian lips. "Greetings." Her soft voice trailed around the dishes of the other. A smirk would creep up her face as the onyx being laid predator-like optics upon the equally, if not darker shade of slate.

Tansy! A little glint of green from across the pond drew Tansy's stare and she was delighted to recognize the little glowing creature. The smile on her face brightened as she made a dancing step in place, a slight bob of her head sending her silvering mane bouncing. "You're back!" she exclaimed as the tiny green firefly zipped across the pond and over to her again, humming softly as it flew around her head once and stayed close by. The childlike mare chuckled as she felt it settle somewhere atop her forelock, felt the hairs shift as it got itself a foothold. "I was wondering where you had gone."Her tiny friend, however, was not the only one to come forward. Seemingly from the shadows another figure stepped into the moonlight, strolling forward with a confident sway in her step and an impish smile upon her lips. The mischievous sort of look about her should have elicited some sort of hesitation, but with Tansy there was none. Her dark eyes swept past the mare at first before she did a double take and stared more directly at her, surprised more than anything to see her appear so suddenly. Had she always been there? No matter she smiled warmly at the stranger and turned just slightly where she stood to offer her attention. "Hello," she greeted cordially, happy to have a bit of company. At least now she did not need to go off looking for something to do. A new friend had found her first instead. "Are you watching the stars too?" Tansy asked curiously, "They're awfully bright tonight." But maybe the other mare had other things on her mind, maybe she was only here because she was set on going someplace else and needed to pass this way in order to get there. Before she might keep moving and leave her, the sooty black equine spoke up once more. "I'm Tansy." ooc: ---

Boy, did she ever talk... Requiem's gaze over the silvery fae was one of a curious gleam. Much like the Moon herself, innocent and playful, but with daunting colors. Maybe this mare, Tansy, by the looks of it wasn't so bad after all. Arching her thick crest as to point her horn ever so slightly downwards, charcoal velvets would speak out in turn. "I'm Requiem. And yes," Returning to her initial pose, hazel orbs would caress the sky and the bright spotlights it sported. "I do suppose the stars are very bright this evening." With a soft swish of her tassle, the ebony figure saunters towards the cool liquids that floated carelessly in the pond.
Lowering her cranium to the water, her velveteens would slide past the surface, as she took a sip from the pond. Raising her crown once more, the lass, almost carelessly shot a question towards her onyx counterpart. "Is anyone else with you?"

Tansy! Because of her naive nature, Tansy was oblivious to the thoughts the other mare had of her. Even a slight masking of it all was enough to keep the black-eyed girl in the dark, and perhaps the poor lighting here made it all the more easy. She was still too far into her own good mood to see anything for more than how it appeared to her, and as far as she could see the horned equine was a friendly and nice companion. Requiem she said her name was, and, to Tansy's surprised happiness, she agreed about the stars. Immediately Tansy did as she did, casting her gaze upward and smiling as she surveyed the sky again. Yep, definitely bright tonight. Her attention shifted back over to Requiem as she heard the mare come closer and approach the pond. The little green firefly took flight again, fluttering up and about her head only to rest once upon her ear. The ear twitched under the tickling sensation it caused and Tansy glanced at the green glowing creature, chuckling slightly, as it took to the air when its resting place moved. Quietly, companionably, it moved to settle against the side of her neck, a spot of bright color upon her dark coat of muted black. Requiem's voice drew Tansy's gaze back toward her, smiling even as she shook her head to answer her. "No, no one," she admitted carelessly, supplying the requested information without a second thought, "Just this little guy." To clarify, she turned her head and exposed the dark side of her neck not covered by her mane where the little green firefly sat, its wings giving a few quick flutters as it took a few steps nervously under the unwanted attention. Gentle as its steps were, the skin of Tansy's neck twitched and nearly unsettled it, and almost in a whisper she giggled, "Careful, Flicker." ooc: loool It's all good! I'm enjoying this thread. xD

With a watchful gaze, the obsidian entity strode a little ways off, yet still in ear shot. Finding a nice patch of greenery, the powerful stilts of the Friesian lowered, allowing her frame to rest on the soft Earth beneath her hooves. And with a lazy shake of her tassles, the mare's voice spoke out once more. "So, Tansy is it?" taking a moment to pause, the light brown pools rolled across the horizon, and only the scents of things such as foxes reached her muzzle cavities. "Tell me about yourself, Tansy. Where are you from?"
Her poised look, almost like a doe, wrapped around Requiem's frame. Watching the mare become so amused over something as little as a firefly seemed to capture Requiem's attention. For the most part, the inky lass didn't care much for her own deep purple sphere of light. Blowing a soft breeze from charcoal nostrils, the purple orb would tumble, landing on one of her tucked legs.
(Ignore in my previous post about concealing in the shadows, I got confused and though Requiem could have powers xD also sorry for shortness)

Tansy! She felt rather than saw the little green firefly fall still against her neck, taking her direction so that it would not get startled into flight, and only when she was sure it was still and safe did she allow herself to draw her attention back toward the dark colored unicorn mare that she shared company with. Somewhere during her inattention the other equine had stepped away and found herself a comfy spot within the grass to rest and was presently lowering herself to it. Tansy watched for a moment, feeling indecisive. Should she do the same so that she was not standing over the other as she spoke to her? Maybe keeping them on even ground would be better. As the other mare asked her question, Tansy paced just a couple uneven steps closer to her and stopped, hesitating just a second before she began to fold her legs and lower herself down to lie a few feet from Requiem. "Mhm," she confirmed when asked about her name, carefully positioning herself upon the ground with a quiet sigh. Flicker, who had taken to hovering beside her during her movement, once again fluttered up to her neck and took up his position again, earning another smile from the dappled black mare as a new question was asked of her. Where was she from? Oh, that was a good question! "I was part of a herd that was near Wellbourne," she explained thoughtfully, "it was kind of small, but my mom liked it there." It was the first time she had really allowed herself to consider the family that she left behind, the mother, the step-father, and brother who had filled her life with such joy those first few years. It made her miss them and long for that sort of close, familial contact that she had been lacking during her travels. "I'm...not even sure it's still there. They might have moved on." It had always been a possibility, even before she had left, but only now did she begin to wonder at the challenge she might have if she ever tried to find them again. "I'm just wandering now, though," Tansy added, her voice taking on a more happy tone as she tried to brush aside the loneliness and homesickness that had popped up. At least there was still the opportunity for making friends and keeping company here. "Are you not from around here either?" she asked conversationally. ooc: My turn to apologize. I took too long in replying. :c Sorry!

The welcoming tone of her voice, and words emitting from this mare in a trustful manner seemed to calm the fiery lass, which she took a slight pause before returning the other's question. Taking a large breath inwards to inflate her lungs, Requiem was sure to be careful with her words. She didn't know if this innocence was yet but a trap for a banshee as herself. " I was from another land, yet not too far from Black Hollow. And as yourself, I was in a small herd. One that consisted of me, my mother and father." With a slight twitch as the words 'mother and father', Requiem took some time to recollect herself, and during this pause her purple firefly, one which has no particular name to begin with, took the time to rest upon the tip of Requiem's striped horn. Requiem's voice itself held a dry, bland tone to it. Almost like a lecture than more of a story, her demeanor was painfully postured. Her next words seemed to come out with more effort than anything. "I used to live down in ButterShade, and then I became a traveler. Wandering around like a lost soul ever since." In fact, Requiem indeed was a lost soul. A bird with no home. Just a rover, really. She liked the feeling of not being tied down. Not having to obey anyone but herself. But there were there downsides, one of course was danger. She was a strong mare, her genes carrying from deep Friesian bloodlines. Hell, she even had a few Gypsy cousins. But she was not capable of fending off more than one enemy, especially without magic. She longed to feel the darkness of shadow run through her veins, poisoning the heart of foes and tormenting the innocent. Tearing her thoughts away from the drunken state of magic, Requiem sighed softly, allowing the breeze to play with her short locks. Tansy(Sorry for the late reply as well xD verrrrry busy week. and this week will be even worse)
